It's official - the USGA has selected Pinehurst No. 2 as the venue for the 2014 U.S. Open Championship. The announcement validated the unique position Pinehurst Resort and No. 2 hold, as no other course in the modern era has hosted three Opens in such a short span of time (1999, 2005 and 2014).
