Coach Light Cafe Adds to Downtown
Since opening on January 10, the popular new Cafe and Wine Bar,
Coach Light, has been the hot spot, with a wait of up to an hour to get a table
for lunch. Located on Pennsylvania Avenue in the quaint downtown area of Southern
Pines, the new establishment features a more upscale atmosphere and eclectic menu
than many of the other area eating spots. An added bonus for those that are waiting
to be seated, is their unique sister business next door, Rose Cottage Antiques.
Inside the dinner area is an eye-catching chandelier made of 84
individual pieces of hand-blown glass. The bar, especially designed for the owners
in nearby Wilmington, NC, is adorned with copper, which becomes a leitmotif throughout
the restaurant. "We wanted to bring something different to the area and introduce
something different for lunch time", owner/operator Kerri Morris said. Coach Light
is open six days a week from 11 am to 3 pm for lunch, and dinner
Friday-Saturday from 6-10 pm. With seating for only 65 people, Morris
recommends you make reservations in advance for lunch and dinner at
(910)692-4449.
