Golf Channel Television Show Features Pinehurst, Southern

SOUTHERN PINES, NC — JANUARY 19, 2007 — The Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen Area Convention and Visitors Bureau announced that the area will be featured in a travel show airing on The Golf Channel. The program, showcasing the area as well as the Brunswick Islands and Currituck County, will debut on January 23, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. Repeat airings are scheduled for January 25 at 12:30 p.m. and January 28th at 3:30 p.m. It will also air five times in the United Kingdom during the first quarter of 2007.
The program was filmed in early September, and is part of a collaborative marketing effort between the CVB and several North Carolina golf destinations, the North Carolina Division of Tourism, Film and Sports Development, The Golf Channel and Golf Digest Companies.
Currently reaching 75 million homes, The Golf Channel’s new contract for live coverage of the PGA Tour is expected to spur additional interest and growth to more than 80 million households by the end of January 2007.
