The Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen Area is known for golf, but it is also home to four local breweries, the state’s longest-operating bottle shop and a sweet little cider house. But, there are plenty of pubs, restaurants, and fun things to do and explore when you are in town. The Sandhills Pour Tour Passport is designed to guide you around Moore County where you can enjoy a beverage and our cool, Southern vibe. So, whether you play golf, or not, anyone can tee up a good time with some friends, a passport and a few rounds at our favorite 19th holes.

Get Your Passport

Ask for a Passport at any location included in the Sandhills Pour Tour and they will issue you one. Or, stop by our office in Southern Pines (across the street from the Growler Company) – 155 W. New York Ave., Suite 300, Southern Pines, NC. Preview the Passport here.

Get Passport Stamped

Upon any purchase at each location, ask for the special stamp to be placed on their feature page. You are one step closer to earning your very own Sandhills Pour Tour commemorative mug!

Get Mugged

When you have collected all seven stamps, bring your fully stamped Passport to the Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen Area CVB (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm) and receive a free Sandhills Pour Tour mug.

BHAWK - Brad Halling American Whiskey Ko.

A Destination Distillery. Hatchet Brewing Co.
Hatchet Brewing Company

The owners of Hatchet, Mike and Greg, met as neighbors while Greg was in Special Forces training and Mike was the Senior Operations Sergeant Major of the 82nd Airborne Division. Both quickly bonded over a love of brewing and their shared experiences in the military. Hatchet is a place where people can relax, share experiences and develop new friendships over great beer.

James Creek Cider House

James Creek makes premium craft (hard) ciders from Southern heirloom and cider apple varieties grown in Moore County and other N.C. farms within 125 miles. Previously a production facility only, the cider house has a tasting room with eight taps on site. Patrons enjoy cider tastings and apple pressing demonstrations, tours, plus food trucks and live music are regulars on site.

Pinehurst Brewing Company

This historic steam plant provided power to the Village since its inception in 1895. A place where neighbors and friends can gather, share a beer and some great food. Much of the original building was maintained. The façade and brick corbeling was saved and vintage arches and windows were restored. Original valves and pipes were repurposed as table legs and light fixtures.

Railhouse Brewery

Railhouse Brewery is owned by Army, Navy, and Air Force veterans and is distributed in North & South Carolina, Georgia, and South Korea. The Brewery originally opened its doors to the public in December 2010 introducing locals to flavorful craft beer. The two original founders of the brewery, Brian Evitts (U.S. Navy vet) and Mike Ratkowski (U.S. Army vet) met as managers of the same company. They are proud to call North Carolina home and love making beer!

Southern Pines Brewing Company

Passion for service, entrepreneurship, and craft beer is what brought three friends together. Micah, Jason, and John met while serving on an Operational Detachment Alpha Team in the Green Berets in Fort Bragg. In 2014, they brewed their first batch of beer and opened the taproom. Micah took on the role as sole owner in 2019, and continues to follow the brewery motto of being “Rooted in the Community.”

Located in the heart of Southern Pines, this location offers another gathering spot for brewery loyalists. Bright, refined and with spacious outdoor seating, you’ll enjoy over 30 selections from our expansive draft list. Southern Pines Brewing Company on Pennsylvania allows the brewery to be in the center of the community and provide a place for people to enjoy their full lineup of beverages.

Southern Pines Growler Company is Moore County’s first dedicated, single purpose growler fill station. It’s also the longest running bottle shop in North Carolina.
