Carthage Buggy Festival
May 8 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Started in 1989, the Carthage Buggy Festival is a celebration of the rich history of Carthage, North Carolina. The Buggy Festival is held each year to commemorate the famous Tyson and Jones Buggy Factory that, from the mid-1800’s to the 1920’s, produced the carriages that were essential to life in rural North Carolina. The event features live music, displays of antique carriages and more than 100 food and craft vendors. A festival fixture, the Classic Car and Truck Show is touted as one of the region’s largest exhibitions of vintage vehicles. More than 100 vehicles will be on display during this year’s exhibition, which is open only to American automobiles manufactured before 1983. With an annual attendance of approximately 20,000, the Buggy Festival has grown into one of the biggest and best known festivals in the region.
Friendly, well-behaved dogs are welcome to attend. They must remain on a leash.
