One Wonderful Night: A Legendary Evening

October 14 @ 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm

October 14
One Wonderful Night: A Legendary Evening – 5:30-10 pm

Join us for our annual fundraiser featuring legends and lore and a whole lot more! Enjoy a performance of storytelling by Kaya and Kat Littleturtle from the Lumbee and Tuscarora people; evening also includes cocktails, dinner by Elliotts, silent and live auctions, and dancing to live music.

Our annual fundraiser is back for another magical night. Our theme this year is our role as caretakers of the land. We have developed a friendship with members of the Lumbee Tribe, and two renowned storytellers and tribe members, Kaya Litttleturtle and his grandmother Kat, will share through storytelling the history of the land where Weymouth now sits. They will guide us through stories of the First Nations’ lives on the land, to the conservation of the land by the Boyds through the early 1900s, and to our responsibilities now as modern-day caretakers.

This year’s gala will raise funds to support the preservation of our historic gardens and grounds, the installation of a few major lighting projects, several historic restoration projects, presenting an incredible season of arts and humanities programming, and doing more for young people in our community.

Like last year’s event, One Wonderful Night: A Legendary Evening will feature cocktails, dinner catered by Elliotts, silent and live auctions, and dancing to live music. The gala is black-tie optional and will take place on the Weymouth grounds in a tent beneath the stars.

Tickets start at $175. Tables of 8: $1200
