Southern Pines Arbor Day

The Southern Pines Appearance Commission will host this year’s Arbor Day celebration on Friday, April 28th at Pool Park, 730 S Henley Street.
We have the privilege of being joined by the 3rd grade students from Southern Pines Elementary! We will start the morning off with guided tree tours where we will explore the magic in the “ordinary” sights at Pool Park.
Southern Pines Parks and Rec will lead some fun activities. We anticipate starting our formal Ceremony, Dedication, and the planting of the Arbor Day trees sometime between 11am and 11:15am. Please join in for all or only some of the day’s events!
This year, we have upped the ante and will be planting 5 trees to help provide shade along the basketball courts on those very hot summer days. This is a big change from our typical 1-2 trees planted to celebrate Arbor Day.
