Program Information
In May of 1781, one of the largest battles was fought in North Carolina. It was the Tory War between the Loyalists who felt loyal to Europe and the gifts of land they received, and the new patriots who wanted freedom from England. This war split families, instigated bold night raids, and was one of the bloodiest battles. The Tory War is an untapped gold mine of historical perspective. Presentation by Andrew Diemer.
