Lights, Camera, Action! A full-fledged TV crew from Golf Channel was in Pinehurst in mid-July to film a half-hour special for the Golf Advisor Round Trip series. Hosted by popular Golf Channel personality, Matt Ginella, the special will focus on all of the improvements and additions to Pinehurst Resort like the redesign of Course No. 4, The Cradle par 3 course, the Pinehurst Brewing Company, and of course, the history and legend of Course No. 2.
The show will also feature Ginella taking a flying lesson at the Moore County Airport and a culinary segment with Chef Mark Elliott, owner of Elliott’s on Linden in Pinehurst and the Sly Fox located in Southern Pines.
“Pinehurst has so much soul, so much history, and prestige, it’s an iconic destination,” said Ginella. “The idea that we can walk down the fairways where all the greatest walked and to see all of the improvements here over the years is truly remarkable and we cannot wait for viewers to see it all. Pinehurst has a great vibe now, great fun!”
The show is part of a partnership between the Pinehurst-Southern Pines-Aberdeen Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, Pinehurst Resort and Golf Channel and includes a significant commitment by the network to bring groups for conferences and network sanctioned golf tournaments to the destination.
“We are really proud of the partnership we have with Golf Channel,” says Phil Werz, president and CEO of the Pinehurst-Southern Pines-Aberdeen Area CVB. “It took a lot of hard work, creativity and commitment from all parties involved to create a truly beneficial package for everyone. We cannot wait for the special to air later this fall and to realize all of the additional benefits over the next two years.”
The Golf Advisor Round Trip show will debut in prime time on November 12th, 2019 on Golf Channel. The show will re-air a couple more times during the same week. Plus, Matt Ginella will preview the show on Morning Drive the morning of the show’s airing. Mark your calendar and tune in as it will be a great show.
