Golf Schools: There’s No Better Place To Improve And Test Your Game
Not only is the Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen area the Home of American Golf®, it’s also the home of golf instruction. With the invention of the driving range at Pinehurst Resort in 1910 and the development of the first golf practice facility in North America in 1913, this area of the country has a legacy of golf training innovation that continues today.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner hoping to learn the fundamentals of golf or a seasoned veteran looking to shave a stroke or two off your handicap, this region has a school, a training facility or a program that’s right for you. Pinehurst Golf Academy at Pinehurst Resort is run by one of the nation’s top 50 golf instructors, Eric Alpenfels, and offers three- and four-day adult schools as well as five-day classes for juniors. Or you can head to teaching legend Peggy Kirk Bell’s twin resorts of Pine Needles and Mid Pines, home of the world’s best all-women’s program. In addition, men, women and juniors can take a “Golfari,” an instruction program that features a mix of lessons combined with play on two classic Ross layouts. Looking for the latest in high-tech instruction? The Village’s Pinewild Country Club offers two- and four-day schools and a short-game school that utilizes computerized swing analysis for instruction and club fitting.
