Holidays in the Sandhills

December 10-12

Happy Holidays! Here are some fun and festive ideas for the weekend in the Sandhills.

This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 10-12, head to the Weymouth Center in Southern Pines for the Miracles at Weymouth Holiday Festival. This family event runs from 11am to 4pm each day and features vendors and artisans, decorated windows, hourly entertainment and a chance to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus’ workshop. Admission is free, however donations will be accepted.

On Friday and Saturday, enjoy the last two nights of North Pole at the NAV. The event runs from 5:30  to 9pm each night. Enjoy a magical sleigh ride, or explore the grounds filled with light displays on your way to see Santa. To learn more and to purchase tickets, go to NationalAthleticVillage.com.

Seagrove Potters

The Seagrove Potters welcome all to their Holiday Open House celebrations each Saturday through December 18th. The event is free and open to the public. Go to the event section of the DiscoverSeagrove website to see a list of participating potters.

Santa at Pik N Pig in Carthage, NC

On Saturday, December 11th, Santa returns to the Pik n Pig in Carthage. The event runs from 11:30am to 4pm with Santa arriving at 1pm. While the Pik n Pig is in the midst of its rebuild, enjoy food trucks and don’t forget to bring canned goods, coats or toys to share with those less fortunate in the area.

And finally, be sure to head to Aberdeen on Saturday for their annual Christmas Parade. The parade starts at 11am in downtown Aberdeen. Then, check out the Old Fashioned Christmas at Malcolm Blue Farm from 1-5pm. The farmhouse will be open and decorated for the season. Come celebrate Christmas in the spirit of the 1800s!

Whatever you do, looks like a fun, festive weekend to enjoy the holiday season in the Sandhills!
