NC Cities Among ‘Best Places To Retire’

Six North Carolina cities are included in the new fifth edition of “America’s 100 Best Places to Retire,” published by Where to Retire magazine. The magazine offer its top selections of great places for retirement, including profiles of locales featured in the magazine. Most cities selected, the editors say, have vibrant downtowns, ample adult education and volunteer opportunities, walkable neighborhoods, superior health care, mild weather and low taxes. North Carolina is well-represented, with six of 100 listings from 34 states. The cities are listed alphabetically, rather than ranked. North Carolina listings included are Asheville, Hendersonville, New Bern, Pinehurst/Southern Pines, Greater Raleigh and Southport.
