Welcome to Slow Farm!

Slow Farm is a regenerative farm in Cameron NC that’s rebuilding the fertility and natural abundance of a 47-acre former tobacco farm using natural techniques and eco-friendly livestock (kunekune pigs, brush goats, ancona ducks, geese, heritage chickens and guineas). Each livestock species and breed has been thoughtfully matched to our land’s resources and deficits in order to do the most good with as few inputs possible.

We host 20+ creative workshops a year. These fun, informative, restorative experiences allow folks to connect with regenerative farming practices in joyful, lasting ways

At Terrace Ridge Farm, we believe better cows produce better beef, and better beef produces a better meal for you and your family.  Give us a try.  It’s simply better beef! At Terrace Ridge Farm, we feed the mind and the body.

A Family Tradition Since 1926

Terrace Ridge Farm, located between Vass and Carthage, NC, was founded in 1926 by Archie B. and Katie Johnson Parker (pictured here with two of their three sons).  Throughout the years, Terrace Ridge Farm has produced dewberries, tobacco, vegetables, beef, hay, and more.

Today . . .

Terrace Ridge Farm is family-owned and operated by Michael, Carol, Garin, Matthew, and Hannah Parker.  We specialize in producing high-quality, pasture-raised farm-to-freezer finished beef and coastal bermuda hay for horses, cows, goats, and more.

We use regenerative farming to produce high quality, naturally grown meats.

Kalawi Farm is a fourth generation peach farm that has strong family roots. Jan Williams grew up on a peach farm. Her father and grandfather were peach growers as well. Jan married Art Williams. After teaching for 10 years, she decided to go back to her roots. In 1985 Jan and Art started the business of Kalawi Farm and named it after their first three children: Ka-for their oldest Katie, La- for their second daughter Laura and Wi- for their third child Will. In 1991, the Ice Cream Shop was opened and named after their fourth child Ben. Will and Ben now help us manage the farm. The Ice Cream Shop started small and grew quicker than anyone could’ve imagined. The homemade ice cream made the farm a destination for more than just peaches. We’ve grown out of two ice cream shops and continue to expand by making new homemade flavors. Jan has even named flavors after her 10 grandchildren: Amy’s Amazing Cookie Dough, Bubba’s Birthday Cake, Nash’s Nanner Pudding, Kendrick’s Karamel Krunch, Wade’s Pralines’n’Cream, Alice Kate’s Chocolate Peanut Butter, Paisley’s Popular Peach, Livi’s Luscious Lime, Nolan’s Nanna Split and Maggie’s Moose Tracks.  We look forward to seeing our customers each year from near and far!

The 1st Bespoke Picnic Experience in the Pines. We design & set up Picnics & Social Soirées

My Story

Through the years my husband and I have been on quite a few picnic dates. There’s something about being outside, snacking on tasty bites, sipping lemonade, and laying back watching the clouds go by with your special someone. Sometimes on rainy days, we’ve ordered out, threw a tablecloth on the floor, called the kids to dinner, and picnicked in the family room. My kids love this tradition and so do I. These picnic dates are among some of my favorite memories. Along with my fondness for picnics, I have a love of hosting social soirées and creating beautiful table-scapes to be enjoyed by my family and friends. With their encouragement and support, I started Pinehurst Picnic Co. I would love to design the perfect picnic date for you. Whether it’s a special occasion you’d like to celebrate, a picnic in the park with your special someone, or just a get-together with friends – Pinehurst Picnic Co. will help you make the memories you will talk about in the years to come with a Luxury Curated Picnic Experience. My picnic basket fare is locally sourced and is sure to exceed your picnic goals; you’ll have everything you need and more. I can’t wait to start designing your luxury picnic.
