The National Railroad Museum and Hall of Fame, Inc. was officially opened in 1976. The purpose of the museum is to create that time when railroads were the main source of long distance travel and passenger train service was at its zenith. A must-see spot for railroad buffs, historians, students, out-of-towners and local residents. Visitors are guaranteed to leave with a new outlook on trains and a deeper understanding of the history that surrounds them. Admission is free. The museum is open Saturday & Sunday 1 – 4 pm. For appointments during other times please contact: Tim Nevinger 910-280-9253
