The Home of American Golf® has long been recognized for its number and quality of golf courses. The Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is pleased to announce the 2017 review and ranking by the NC Golf Panel for the Top 50 Courses You Can Play (best public and semi-private courses) in North Carolina includes sixteen area courses in Moore County. That’s over 30 percent, and totaled more than the second and third locations combined (Brunswick County – 8, Triad Region – 7). The NC Golf Panel results are published annually in the April issue of BusinessNC magazine.

These chart toppers represent a variety of courses, difficulty, and architects. The Pinehurst Resort is well represented with the following rankings – Pinehurst No.2 (1), Pinehurst No.8 (3), Pinehurst No.4 (4), Pinehurst No.9 (7), Pinehurst No.7 (16), Pinehurst No.6 (41), and Pinehurst No.1 (44). In addition, Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club (2), Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club (5), Dormie Club (10), Mid South Club (15), Southern Pines Golf Club (30), Tobacco Road Golf Club (32), Talamore Resort (34), 7 Lakes Country Club (37), and Legacy Golf Links (40) wrap up the listings for the Home of American Golf®.
