The Festival D’Avion is a celebration of freedom and flight at the Moore County Airport in Carthage, NC, located just outside of Pinehurst. Children 12 and under are free. Tickets for everyone else can be purchased at ticketmesandhills.com.
Friday, October 28: Celebration Concert
The annual event draws upwards of 7,500 patrons, with the weekend kicking off with a Celebration Concert performed by Charlotte-based REO Survivor Tribute band. Gates open at 4 p.m. with the opening act Whiskey Pines taking the stage at 5:15 p.m. Patrons are asked to bring their own chairs to the concert. No outside food or beverage is permitted inside the gates on either day of the festival.
Saturday, October 29: Festival D’Avion
Saturday’s Festival D’Avion offers a unique collection of special activities, displays, entertainment and food and beverage for the entire family to enjoy. The five branches of the military will be recognized with static aircraft exhibits honoring the men and women who serve and have served in the armed forces. For the kiddos, there will be giant inflatables, carnival games, prizes and so much more (for a nominal fee) or get your photo taken with Star Wars characters from the 501st Legion. Dress up in your Halloween costume and enter into our “Best Costume Contest” with a chance to win some cool stuff, or off on a “Trunk or Treat” treasure hunt sponsored by the Children of Fallen Heroes.
The Festival D’Avion is a celebration of Freedom and Flight and honors the men and women that have served in the armed forces. The event includes a celebration concert on Friday evening, and special aircraft exhibits, scheduled aircraft fly-overs, Warbird displays, precision jump team exhibitions, programmed entertainment and a special scheduled fly-out of all participating aircraft on Saturday. The five branches of the military have approved participation for the Festival D’Avion and will provide a variety of static aircraft and military equipment displays. A variety of food & beverage options will be available from area and regional food trucks, craft beer breweries, North Carolina wineries and vendors.
The 2021 Festival D’Avion is the third-annual celebration of freedom and flight at the Moore County Airport, located just outside of Pinehurst, NC. The event ticket includes Admission to the Festival D’Avion, along with Friday’s Celebration Concert featuring On The Border – The Ultimate Eagles Tribute Band. Children 12 and Under Are Admitted Free.
October 29: Gates Open at 5:00 pm for On The Border: The Ultimate Eagles Tribute Band
October 30: Gates Open at 10:00 am. Aircraft Flyout is from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm.
