BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! You loved them, you obsessed over them, you searched for them and for some of you, you found them. Our inaugural Pinecone Pathways Program was so popular, we are bringing a smaller ONE-DAY version back for the fall. Hundreds of people from Moore County and places as far away as Ohio, Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia hit our trails throughout our destination this past spring in search of the coveted and elusive glass pinecones produced by our friends at Starworks. Now, everyone will have a chance on Great Trails Day to get out, enjoy the crisp fall air, the color of the season and perhaps find a glass pinecone!

On Saturday, October 21, 2023 to celebrate Great Trails Day, our super secret hiders will be back at it for ONE day and will hide 10 special edition glass blown pinecones from Starworks. In addition to finding the pinecone, each one will be tagged with a special number that correlates to an additional prize. Prizes range from U.S. Open Coffee Mugs to gift cards to places like Double Eagle Indoor Golf & Lounge and ONE lucky winner will win 2 tickets to the 2024 U.S. Open (practice round) in June 2024 at historic Pinehurst No. 2. Winners will need to bring their pinecone and tag to our office to claim their additional prize.

Just ONE Pinecone will be on 10 different trails. More hints will be given on our social media the morning of October 21st.  For exact addresses please use our Moore County Trails List.

Check social media and this webpage to see when pinecones have been found.
