Join us as former Weymouth Writer-in-Residence Majorie Hudson reads selections from her debut novel, Indigo Field. She'll be joined by short story author Katrina Denza for a conversation on the novel writing and editing process. Majorie Hudson is the author of Accidental Birds of the Carolinas (stories) and Searching for Virginia Dare (history/travelogue), and her essays and stories plumb the depths of the human heart. Arvis Boughman is an enrolled member of the Lumbee Indian tribe of North Carolina. His lecture is entitled "Herbal Remedies of the Lumbee Indians." He works with adults and children, as an elementary school teacher and a speech/language pathologist. He has worked with children from many different Nations including First Nations children from the Lumbee, the Eastern Band of Cherokee, and the Sioux.
